The youth of today just aren’t on the religion train the way their older relatives were, especially here in the Sunshine State.
Case in point, the Palm Beach Post reports that a Key West woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill for attacking her grandmother after the older woman was said to be “praying too loudly,” according to police. Twenty-eight-year-old Sherice Gordon was said to have become upset when her grandmother and grandmother’s friend were in the family’s “religious room” praying at an excited volume. When the pair refused to tone it down, Gordon allegedly did the only logical thing she could do — grab a kitchen knife and go to work.
Fortunately, someone was there to break it up and the 70-year-old granny didn’t suffer any injuries, hence the “without the intent to kill” part of the charges. Gordon denies the allegations, so who knows where this one will go? If I’m grandma though, I might consider using my inside voice next time.
