Look, wires sometimes get crossed. People don’t follow directions and have lapses in judgment. It happens whether you work at a Fortune 500 company or as one of Florida’s award-winning public school bus drivers.
On that note, a Fort Myers bus driver slightly misjudged the drop-off point of the 5-year-old in his care and left the tiny tot at the first location with the word “House” on it he could find. As it turned out, that would be a Waffle House. The resourceful little chap then walked several blocks along the busy US Highway 41 to a gas station where workers were able to reconnect him with his mother, according to News 96.5.
As you might imagine, the bus driver is no longer employed with the district. An angry Facebook Mom post made sure of that. Blah blah child endangerment blah blah blah. In other news, Waffle House very briefly had a visitor under the age of 68.
