Abortion is a tough subject to talk about due to all the emotions and deeply held beliefs surrounding its practice. Supporters of choice cite the unintended consequences of allowing unwanted children to be born into the world. Abortion opponents run the spectrum from those against it at all costs to those supportive of it only when a mother’s life is at stake or in instances of rape.
Then there’s Abolish Abortion Florida (AAF). The AAF has a unique view. Classify abortion as murder and put the participants to death. In comments to Broadly, AAF chairperson Bonnie Coffey said the organization feels “laws against murder should be enforced equally against anyone who commits murder and anyone who procures an abortion is procuring a murder. There are no exceptions.”
Since Florida has the death penalty and the AAF holds abortion should be premeditated first degree murder, the dots in what they are saying aren’t too hard to connect.
